The announcement text: The Company is a small midland based company of electronic and software design engineers, designing and producing highly specialised electonic test quipment for use in simulation testing. As the Company is small the employee will be involved in most aspects of the Company?s business to varying degrees.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the initiation and maintenance of relationships with prospects and customers. As part of this he will be responsible for the identification of suitable development and test applications for the company?s range of products and services.
A significant degree of presales consultancy will be required along with negotiation of levels of functionality and cost.
The person we are seeking is intended to drive a large part of the company sales function,
actively maintaining existing accounts and opening new accounts. This post will be primarily
customer facing.
?Open new customer relationships either from enquiries or via strategic introduction
at senior management level
?Maintain existing customer relationships
?Maintain sales database for sales activity
?Provide pre-sales consultancy (supported by application engineering)
?Negotiate pricing with customers
?Participate*lead in weekly sales meetings
?Learn and maintain good working knowledge of all products
?Initiate and finalize quotations
?Attend Quarterly Marketing Strategy meetings, assist with Marketing plan updates
?Attend Quarterly Sales Strategy meetings, assist with Sales plan updates
?Attend exhibitions *conferences
?Do company and product presentations at customers, exhibitions, conferences and
seminars
To do this it is envisaged that the sales executive will
?Identify, qualify and specify solutions including hardware, software and services.
?Develop technical solutions that support business objectives on specified accounts.
?Create strong relationships with key technical staff at the customer in order to
become their trusted technology advisor.
?Assist in creating demand by educating customers on solution potential and building
value proposition models to support the business case.
?Sell services effectively, including appropriate contingency and risk factors.
?Articulate clearly the benefits of flexible simulation testing solutions and what
makes them compelling.
REQUIREMENTS
Must have
?Proven sales ability
?Good General technical knowledge, reasonable knowledge of automotive or aerospace
?Ease and confidence with PC applications such as Office, Act.
?Professional attitude, be presentable and enthusiastic
?Sales and or marketing Experience
?Experience of working within a small company
?(Automotive?) Engineering Background
Advantageous to have
?Recent knowledge of the automotive industry and in particular the design and
development sector
?Knowledge of our market
?Degree level qualification in scientific*technical field
?Knowledge of our technology
